Progres 7.5%

Works are going on in the project as scheduled. The main activites are: concreting, building of walls and backfiling. There is a substential increase in the quantities of timber for shutering. Posted pictures shows part of the implemented works.

Casting of First roof and Producing of First Cement Block

The first roof casted yesterday and another 6 roofs are ready to be casted next week. The progress reached 5%.
In the last couple of days the Hollow blocks factory was launched with a capacity of 3000 units per day.
More quantities of Timber and steel supports were supplied. A new concrete mixer will be provided to accelerate works in the project.

Problems with Excavation and Delays

Excavations faces a lot of problems because of hard soil that contains a big percentage of rocks and due to the lack of labor. More problems with the excavator break down.

Excavation Started

Last week excavation works started. Manual excavation, compressor and power excavator all were tried. The soil is very hard and big rocks are scattered in the site. The progress was very slow; only 4 buildings were excavated out of 26 proposed at this stage. Hopefuly, this sitiuation will change by the end of this week. Concreting of footings will start soon.

Today a technical team from KE started the setteng of foundations on site to prepare for foundation excavations that will commence soon ...

PROJECT PROGRESS

Title: 100 Housing Units at Mardoom
Location: Mardoom, Bani Walid, Libya

Description:
Construction of 100 housing units at Mardoom (55 Km to the north of Baniwalid and 230 Km East of Tripoli). The project comprised of 50 two-storey building blocks. Each apartment 140 m2 covered area contains 3 bedrooms, lounge, living room, kitchen, bathroom, WC, balcony .. etc. Each apartment has a private courtyard, garage and underground water tank. Each block of two apartments is surrounded by wall fence with separate entrances for each apartment.


Progress:

• Site preparatio: Fencing, clearing, earthmoving in progress (70%)

• PMobilization: preparation of accommodation camp, stores and project office (90%)
• rocurement of materials: 200 tonsof steel

Setting of buildings on site and starting excavaction works for foundation will be commenced in the following days
